This is another result of the Vezzani experience and innovative approach. With this device the productivity of the melt shop is increased without need of installing a
greater furnace capacity and at the same time reducing the energy consumption per ton of steel produced.

It consists of a large vertical pressure block that compresses the scrap within the basket.

The resulting density for a normal type of scrap ranges between 1.2 to 1,4 kg/dm³ versus 0.6 to 0.8 kg/dm³ when not utilizing the Basket Press.
